Smile Journey Kenya 2025
In May 2025, our Smile Journey Kenya program brought together a dedicated and diverse team for a memorable experience. We combined education, outreach, and cultural exchange, making this journey about giving, learning, connecting, and making a real impact.
Our team included three motivated high school students and three passionate healthcare professionals. From the start, the students took initiative by organizing a fundraising campaign. This helped us bring oral health supplies, educational materials, and menstrual health kits to the communities we visited. The healthcare professionals contributed their expertise and skills, and thoughtfully gathered additional donations.
Thanks to our volunteers and donors, we invested over $3,000 into community programs, materials, and resources that made a real difference. We launched a daily toothbrushing program, led interactive educational sessions, and trained local teachers and health workers to continue these efforts.
Volunteers distributed 160 reusable menstrual kits to girls, along with education and support to help create safe, welcoming learning spaces. Additional donations like sports equipment, clothing, scrubs, yoga mats, and books helped strengthen ongoing community projects and support families in need.
The trip offered many meaningful cross-cultural experiences. We visited villages and markets, played with children, and shared stories. Each moment helped us build understanding, connection, and respect. Volunteers gave their time and skills, and learned from the resilience, creativity, and strength of the communities we met.
We even went on a few safaris, adding adventure and unforgettable memories to our journey.
The Smile Journey is more than outreach. It is about growing together, making a lasting impact, and spreading smiles, one journey at a time.
